
Franz Atare is an Associate Professor of Recreation and Sports Management at the department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Uyo, Nigeria and also a visiting scholar to Pan Africa University (Life and Earth Science Institute).
As a board member of Cycling Federation of Nigeria he had served in different committees such as medical, ceremonial, and technical. Also, a member board of Trustees of several cycling club in Nigeria. A member of African Urban Cycling Organisation.
As an academic with over 20 years teaching and research experience has over 50 published articles and books. He is the Secretary-General of Nigeria Association for Physical, Health Education, Sports and Dance.
He is an articulate speaker and have served as keynote and Lead paper presenter in h National and International Conferences. He is a confident sport administrator having served in various national and international university sports committees. He is the inventor of the game called Floormatics (play-de-blind) that provides opportunity for the visual impaired to compete in the same activity with the sighted. He has participated in several policy drafting committee in Nigeria.
